Busy, busy, busy - 1288 breeds of dogs!

Hi everyone, I have not meant to neglect any of my readers, I have just been extremely busy working on the new company/domain. AnimalLoversInternation.com, will allow me to provide so much more animal information to everyone. I have not given up on Pet Purfection and am hoping to eventually combine the two but for the moment, I will be merging alot of the important topics that are here into AnimalLoversInternational.  I have made a few new friends from this site and I put alot of effort into it, however, I have not received the interest needed or have the capabilities here to provide the type of service I want to extend to animal lovers.  All I can ask from any animal lover who happens to read this... please send me topics you are interested in learning about. Give my new site a week or so more and check it out. The dog breed listing is completed and all the links are working properly - this will be a great tool for anyone interested in aquiring a dog but not sure what kind would be best for them. We currently have over 1288 breeds of dogs listed. This is functioning and can be accessed at http://www.AnimalLoversInternational.com the cat breed listing should be completed shortly. All the breed names are on the list, I am currently working on getting a link for each breed entered for them.

I have struggled with the sql databases... somethings are very difficult even with explanations. So I hope you like the way I layed out the dog & cat breed lists. I feel it actually worked out better this way.  As always I am very interested in your thoughts and opinions.  Drop me a line... anytime, my inbox is here 24/7.  petplanner@att.net.  Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

New improved site - domain update

I have not been neglecting this site, although it may seem like it. In all actuality I have purchased a domain name, that will forever belong to me.  I am very excited, although little confused...lol as this new production venture is leading me to learn more and more about web development.  This website and domain address will allow me to take my website to the level that our animal friends are worthy of. While I enjoy this website and have put a lot of time and effort into it... it does not let me display articles and information to my liking. It also will not hold in its memory the amount of animal information that is going into our current data bases.  The new domain will be geared towards animals of all kinds, but have very specific topics for pets and companion animals.  I will also be able to have sections of animals products and so on.  Anyways, excitement is mounting by the day.. Readers please utilize this site for ideas and project implementations you would like to see.. in the meantime if you would like to visit the new domain, (remember... just got it 2 days ago so pls be patient with me)...http://animalloversinternational.com

Balancing and working from home

One of the very hardest parts of setting up a home business, or working from home is Balancing.  Trying to balance family requirements, and have everyone understand that when you are on the computer, etc. you are WORKING!   I know I will occasionally hop over to my games. Geez sometimes my poor old brain just needs a break, but all in all, it is very difficult to train yourself and your family to understand that a job is a job..   Working from home requires a ton of self discipline.  Now the benefits of working from home are countless, once the balancing part is completed..

I love being able to work with my animals right here next to me. I enjoy being the first one my son sees when he comes home from school or play. It is great to be able to walk a few feet away from your desk and put on dinner, or throw the clothes in the wash, etc.  It is also fantastic that in the middle of the night, I can go to work, (if I choose), take a break when I actually need it and spend my day working how I please and when I please.  Enough said, time to balance and get back to work.  Wishing everyone a beautiful day!

agravated and disgusted! Humans let rats eat a 6 wk old baby's toes!

I have just finished reading my rss feeds for today and have been sickened by the Associated Press story out of Waverly, OH. Three (3) people have been accused of letting rats eat off the toes of a 6 wk old baby girl!  This is just disgusting! What is wrong with us as a species???? We as humans have to ability and potential to do so much good. Can someone please tell me why we repeatedly and consistently as a species CHOOSE to do so much evil?  I know, I know this is just a minute case in the many billions of cases of what humans as a species choose to do to each other and to the animals of the world. I can't help it... I just don't get it!

On a lighter note, yesterday shortly after my blog posting, I did figure out how to get to bravenet's journals, and today I realized no one was reading my forums, because it was locked!  Oh how the little crossing your I's and dotting your T's are so very important.

Well folks, I'm off to do more research. Look forward to some cool additions and implementations in the near future. Wishing everyone a blessed day... and folks can we PLEASE try to spread around a little kindness to our fellow animals, including the human kind.

Some days are easier than others

Oh Geez, it's Tuesday morning about 7:04 am, I have been here for over an hour and have nothing accomplished. It's pouring outside and in about 2 hours I have to take my son to the hospital for tests. Found out yesterday that he's going to be a father, which makes me.. going to be a grandma... exciting. I just pray the doctors can get him healthy again, he's going to need it with the upcoming blessing in his life.

Maybe I'm just tired, (my eyes are so sore), maybe I'm just old and the cobwebs I tried so hard to clear out came back... but for the life of me NOTHING is making any sense this morning.  I've read the tutorial on FTP's and HTML's, etc. but it isn't sinking in.  I want so desperately to make this site better. My main goal today was to learn how to link things and use files. Heck I can't even figure out how to get to the bravenet page that I've been to before!  So many people have a title bar that you just click and it brings up the article. Not me... I have to have the whole article typed out on the page. That is wasting valuable information space. How do they do it?

At the moment, I can't even find other bravenet websites. Oh Geez... some days are definitely easier than others!

Help - awesome!

It's Monday morning and the sun is shining. What a beautiful day! Somewhere along the line, I feel like I'm missing a day. I really thought today was Sunday...ha.. no wonder my husband is always teasing me about loosing my mind... think the cobwebs snuck back in over the weekend...It was however a very productive weekend. We actually have a friend helping! I am so excited! This will enable me to get a link for each dog breed so much quicker.  I've added some updates to the site over the weekend, but have been mostly working on the dog database.  My eyes are very tired today, just broke out the good old morning pepsi.. Sure hope it helps!

Still haven't had anyone comment on the forum feed to clarify the discrepency between Old English Bull Dogs and if they are really extinct or not, so I have taken the extinct marker off of them. Once I know more ... will be able to provide more accurate information.  Well here's to a wonderful start to a Monday, tomorrow will be spending most of the day at the hospital with my son. Wishing everyone a great day.

Animal Data Base - update

Ok, now I know why I can't find a complete listing a-z of animals anywhere on the web, I am sure there may be one somewhere buried in some scientific genius's computer. However, I am not a genius nor do I have that type of storage capability for memory, even on a paid site. So what will be done is: a database in alphabetical order per species. This should make it more interesting for our readers. As I can't see someone interested in dogs, paging through thousands and thousands of names that don't mean anything to them, but in the event someone is doing a reaserch project or report, they could access the different data bases to utilize the information as needed. This will also enable me to feel I am making accomplishments to and it will make it easier for new species or breeds to be added or corrections to be updated. With that thought out and said... There are only 1/2 of the hybrid species of dogs and extinct breeds left to be added. Then I will remove the animals that don't belong on this report from the data base and we will have to my best ability a workable dog listing. At the moment it doesn't contain a link for each and every species but that will be my next major project, then on to cats,.....birds, rodents, etc.

To those of you who may take interest in these animal data bases, if you need a paticular group of animal information, let me know and I will glady move up the research on that paticular group.  Wishing everyone a very safe and wonderful weekend.  Take time to enjoy an animal today.

confusion and Old English Bulldogs

Yesterday I had reported that I had the dog reseach completed for database. This morning I see a news announcement regarding English Bulldogs.  Old English Bull dogs, according the wikipedia were extinct. So I started searching and found people advertising Old English Bull dog puppies for sale. Now I know there are scams everywhere. But what I need to know for sure is... ARE THEY EXTINCT OR NOT?  More confusion, more research required... Between getting rejected yesterday by the turkey group and now this I am frustrated.  Really wish I had more animal lovers commenting and viewing my work. Oh well, It is what it is.... time to get back to work.

Unbelievable... rejected by Turkeys!

Friday late afternoon and I just received my rejection to join a turkey forum. Can you believe it... all I wanted to do was learn more about rare turkey breeds so I could provide information to my readers and they don't want me to... go figure! Ah another stumbling block.. it would have been so easy to have the information from the people who breed them just pop into my email.. I now will have to search and search to find out information on them... I just don't get it, why would educating people about rare turkey species be a bad thing???? Unbelievable to me... anyways... on a brighter note, my son isn't critical, just important and I have finished compiling all the lists of dog breeds including the ones that have become extinct.  So anyways to the turkey rejection... go fly.. I'll find out the information on my own.  Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday afternoon.

It's Friday

Well we are working towards the end of another week! What an up and down week this has been. Last night I was reading about boxes and drop down menus, etc. I have so much to learn.  Once I can wrap around the concept of how to utilize this, I believe the website will be easier to use and I can get more information in it. I also need to learn how to do the linking to url information better. I have deleted my search box for the time being.. as my site just isnt big enough for it really to be of use. Once it is upgraded I will be putting this tool back. I already have extremely few visitors and very little input, don't want someone to use something that makes them say this was stupid... so.. anyways

My little guy comes home to day. One day I will really have to stop saying little guy as he is almost as tall as me and he's 12. At 12 they don't really like being called a little guy. But I know he doesn't read my journal so all is well. Still praying for my eldest. Doc. appt. isn't till after 3 this afternoon. I am so worried.

303 animals species are listed in my data base so far.. and I haven't even made a dent into the animal world.  As I am entering and researching and finding all these species, really praying that it will be easy for my readers, (when they come),  to utilize this information. Also wondering if the data base will be big enough..If there is a database like this made already, I have never been able to find it through a search engine. Is there a reason?  This is another prayer that I have been making. Please grant me the endurance and the courage to create something that will be useful to people everywhere.  I just want to do this right.

It still hurts alot that I haven't gotten more input, readers etc. but that is probably my fault somehow. I must not be advertising correctly or asking correctly. I know there are animal lovers out there, just can't figure out why I can't find them or they can't find me.... Well off for now as we all know I have a lot to get done and it's Friday!
